It’s Not Easy…But I’ll Take It.
This morning, I walked out of my local Honey Dew Donuts (where the service is always excellent) and headed to my car. A friend of mine made fun of my attire—golf shirt, shorts, flip flops—and hinted that I didn’t look like I was ready for work. The good thing was that I was ready for work. That is one of the major trade-offs with running your own business: no commute, no khakis, definitely no tie.
The other trade-off this week is this: I’ve been running the entire show alone for a week. Drew’s out, Chris is on Nantucket, and I’m handling everything. It’s a bit busy and it’s impossible to get everything done, but it’s still better than traffic and skull-numbing meetings. Sure, I’ve got four proposals, several project writeups, and mound of customer service requests to get to. But next week, I’ll be in Quebec City for a few days relaxing. And for now, I’m off to make my kids some grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch.
